My guests are ladies... so they talk soft like ladies... not a lot even Patrick Brady could do about it without making it all sound weird. So, it soft -and ladylike. That’s what’s up. They are both on facebook and twitter find them and follow: @WendyLiebman and @JudeTheUnsure. It's a girly episode... I hope you enjoy a lovely hour with two funny, smart lady-friend dorks. Also, I lose my intelligentsia card when I don't know who Susan Sontag is...

It’s one on one dork dialog this episode. Dana Gould  (follow him on twitter @danajgould ) is a great comic, actor and writer and one of the first comics I knew who committed to what I call, at this writing, dorkiness, in his act. His material is always personal and family related but it also has always gone to his favorite films and games. His love of Science Fiction and Horror has a nice sense of depth in his act, and when you talk to him. This is a great episode. Enjoy!

Lucha Va Voom – show Dana and Blaine Capatch crack wise on regularly.

Communion: A True Story – Whitley Strieber

Planet of the Apes Statues - Lawgiver, Ceasar (from Battle For The Planet of the Apes)

Dana Gould recommended watching and reading:

Sherlock – BBC One – I can’t find it on BBC America
Jekyll – BBC One by the same guy, also not currently airing… but DVDs abound from Netflix in both cases.

HBO Upcoming, he recommends: Game of Thrones

And… when I pressed him for old Dracula movies:

The Night Stalker Pilot – 1972

Dark Shadows

Horror of Dracula

Brides of Dracula

Magazine
Famous Monsters of Filmland

It’s a new year – feel free to donate if you haven’t. And… take care of each other out there. For crying out loud. Jackie

For the first time I think I’m out chatted. Doug Benson owns his dorkdom with a dignity that I truly admire and Eddie Pepitone is a fascinating man in search of his muse. Together their enjoyment of the minutia of life, from twitter to game shows, defines what I really think of when I think of dorkdoms. This episode is cussy – just so you know.

Vagaries discussed

The Muppets (new Muppet Movie Eddie is in. And I knew Amy Adams was once I saw her picture).

Veronica Mars (A great TV show that was cancelled)

Nielsen Ratings (I’m sure it’s important-I can’t figure an average. Mostly b/c I can’t care).

Jean Doumanian (SNL and Woody Allen producer)

Pema Chodron (Tibetan Buddhism Teacher)

Money Drop (Kevin Pollack Hosted new game show)

Murray Head - Chess (One Night in Bangkok)

Noises Within (theater in Glendale)

Dick Cavett interviews Janis Joplin (I love what she says after 5:00)

Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work (Netflix Streaming)

Paul Newman – Robert Redford (4th paragraph on this link has the car crushing story)

Books recommended

Eddie

Death of the Liberal Class – Chris Hedges

Hollywood Writers from 1950-1985 (find Eddie on twitter and ask him which of a million versions of this title)

Doug

Zombie Spaceship Wasteland: a Book by Patton Oswalt

Jackie

Talk Show – Dick Cavett

Fool On The Hill – Matt Ruff
