The Dork Forest

Dork on Dork Dialog with Jackie Kashian. I am interested in whatever dorky thing you want to talk about. Guests speak to their love of books, TV, Movies, Comic books, websites, food, wrestling, cars, action figures and bees. There is room for all in The Dork Forest. This is a safe space. I’m in Austin, TX with Noah Kuttler, friend of the show. He hooked me up the comic book store here in Austin and, no surprise; he is a HUGE comic book dork. He explains Bendis to me. And I want to hear it!! I could NOT be punchier in this episode. We're recording around a lady vacuuming in the bar and it's just like being there. Enjoy!

Maria had a really funny guest spot on Dharma and Greg as a violin teacher back in the day. I didn't know she played the violin for real!

Oh, and BTW. For those interested in reading the profile piece that I wrote about Felicia Day for our IBM Innovate 2011 event, that's on our IBM Software Blog - Spotlight on Felicia Day

@Rob: You are entitled to your opinion about Judd's run on Shazam (which quite a number of people, including myself, quite enjoyed). I will say that comics are unique in that things are constantly changing. It's like the weather in South Florida. If you don't like it, wait five minutes.

With regard to Tekno*Comix. They did not publish Walter Koenig's Raver. (he did that through Malibu and is bringing it to Bluewater).

The Tekno line focused on properties from Neil Gaiman, Mickey Spillane, Gene Roddenberry, Leonard Nimoy, Issac Asimov, John Jakes and they were going to do a book with Tad Williams, but I can't recall if that ever shipped or not.

If you can find them in back issue bins, they are quite good. Especially the Mike Danger book (I assisted on that book for a few issues).

    Judd Winik ruined Shazam!
I remember a comic called Walter Koenig's Raver. I think that was a Techno. I have not really been into comics for the last 3 years because I have no job.
