    And, of course, the film STARSHIP TROOPERS savagely mocks the novel. I'm not sure the novel didn't deserve that. MIMIC, the other big bug movie that year, was also an interesting approach to a "real" sf story, this one a very short one by Donald Wollheim.

    STARSHIP TROOPERS ans MIMIC both had sequels, but only ST had a tv cartoon version, I think...

    And, wow, Stephen Donaldson. No reason to waste that time, at all (for me, though, he's in the same class as Orson Scott Card, Anne Rice and most of Stephen King, though not all of SK...so you can see there's a certain weight of popular opinion pointing the other way. That's fine. Let those folks have at.)

    And here I'd thought I'd be useless in response to this topic...the predecessor of AOL was Q-Link, meant for Commodore users. I used Q-Link, Steve Case a few years ahead of me in high school (a few more than Barry Obama)...so what's my excuse?
