A couple of late notes...I find myself, of all things, defending Hershey...their "Special Dark" line isn't first-rate dark chocolate, but it's not terrible, particularly compared to some of the lesser of the more pretentious 55% cacao (and more, of course) bars which try to camouflage themselves as the Real Thing, and charge accordingly. First-rate Swiss stuff, of course, and some of the Americans and others imitating them closely, is (for a diabetic like myself, literally) to die for (albeit the dark bars often have gratifyingly small amounts of sugar, just hell's own pile of fat), but the Special Darks are at least as pleasant to me as a Mounds or a Peter Paul Peppermint candy. And where would Judith Rossner have been without Mr. Goodbar? (I'm sure the Hershey folks were endlessly thrilled with that 1970s bestselling connection...not the way one wants a strong Hallowe'enish connotation for one's product).

And, of course, instead of the whole having/adopting kids thing, you and Andy could (as you've ruminated about on-podcast) take on a mammal pet, but I suspect they'll be a bit more demanding about, among other things, feed times and attention times than is Tiberius (my parent-friends assure me that dog/cat keeping is rather akin to parenting-lite). With the slightest of apologies to T. S. Eliot, we in this house sleep till feline voices wake us, and we go down (to open the cans of tuna or beef puree).

A whole lot of podcasting before audiences this week (how might that happen, this week particularly), and I certainly liked this one A Lot. I suspect as much fun as Bamford and Cavett will be, this was more. (Cavett recording for HBO?)

OK...Sammy Hagar boycotting...it wasn't so much that he left Van Halen the band, as that he replaced the much more entertaining David Lee Roth as lead singer in the band. One boycotted Van Halen w/SH, or Van Hagar...

I must admit I don't own seven seasons of GILMORE GIRLS, but I do own copies of at least four (that last season was pretty weak, after Amy Sherman-Palladino left...her new one, BUNHEADS, is both too much and too little like GG)...

And thanks for letting us hear the Bonus chats on the page here! Is that Andy pointing out the ridiculous aspects of REVOLUTION?
