Bil Dwyer loves Golf. He doesn’t talk about it enough for me, but we learn that he read that John Jakes series with The Bastard when he was a child. He is a walking hilarity.     Hoping not to disappoint, but my memory of golf films is pretty slight (much as the body of golf films there have been seems pretty slight), beyond cartoon shorts the Disney guys started to come up with as they became well-to-do middle-aged golfers themselves...and the likes of PAT AND MIKE (Hepburn and Tracy)...a few episodes of M*A*S*H...segments of the likes of ANIMAL HOUSE...

    For Adam Sandler...well, 50 FIRST DATES wasn't the worst film ever (particularly among romcoms), and PUNCH-DRUNK LOVE was pretty good...I dunno, Goldie Hawn's free-floating hostility toward women tends to put me off (OVERBOARD being kinda SWEPT AWAY... lite)...and NEIGHBORS is the kind of film that's so bad (I'm glad its fans don't care what I think) that the soundtrack music attempts to be a laugh track. Great cast, possibly good source novel, No. Just, really, no...
