The Dork Forest

Dork on Dork Dialog with Jackie Kashian. I am interested in whatever dorky thing you want to talk about. Guests speak to their love of books, TV, Movies, Comic books, websites, food, wrestling, cars, action figures and bees. There is room for all in The Dork Forest. This is a safe space. My guests are ladies... so they talk soft like ladies... not a lot even Patrick Brady could do about it without making it all sound weird. So, it soft -and ladylike. That’s what’s up. They are both on facebook and twitter find them and follow: @WendyLiebman and @JudeTheUnsure. It's a girly episode... I hope you enjoy a lovely hour with two funny, smart lady-friend dorks. Also, I lose my intelligentsia card when I don't know who Susan Sontag is...

Oh right. THIS is where you mentioned Castle Waiting. What I get for reading the notes in reverse-order. I did enjoy the girlie dork out, even if I had to wing my volume around.

If Judith Shelton is not on ravelry.com, tell her she must drop whatever she is doing and sign up now. Fancy yarn, and then some!

Despite being a Ed Zwick dork (at very least, I praise his better television work to the skies, and seemed to like LOVE AND OTHER DRUGS more than most), I'd managed to miss DEFIANCE so far...I'll have to rectify...

And thanks, Jackie, for taking on the USO work, as well as such other service to the larger community as this 'cast...

It's just my luck that I missed the Sontag reference, but heard the Spencer Pratt (and quite the prat he appears to be) anecdote (though that did have its amusement value).

Altsheler is new to me, but I suspect his juveniles were never actually down to the SWEET VALLEY HIGH level...his contributions to the magazines of the time mark him as a middle-brow guy, at least (very roughly comparable to VANITY FAIR, ESQUIRE, BLACK BOOK today).

"The Metro" was perhaps the only non-pathetically-trashy song on the PLEASURE VICTIM album. I found the record endearingly hilarious, and Teri Nunn had some pipes (and I did dig the drayma of the "Metro" video).

And thanks for the blog shout.
