My guest this episode is Jimmy Pardo, host and creator of the fantastic podcast Never Not Funny. He's such a fascinating comic that it took most of the show for me to get to the fact that he’s a Fantasy Baseball dork. Fantasy Baseball seems to be that you get a list of players and you WATCH their stats for the season. Fascinating! You will note how much I like Jimmy because I won’t let him talk. I beginning to see it as a symptom of something.

I sound like I still have some sort of head infection, don’t I? Boo. I had an ear infection and it’s moved to my sinuses (as my acupuncturist said - English not her first language – though MUCH better than my Cantonese, “behind your face is one piece of meat.” i.e. the infection has spread). My Ear, Nose and Throat doctor tested my hearing and I’ve lost 30% in my right ear. But he doesn’t know what to do about it. His recommendation? That I send a video to SNL to audition for them. i.e. I need a new ENT guy.

Topics covered:

Morning Radio: Bob & Tom, Dudley & Bob (Austin, TX), Todd and Tyler, Jim Johnson (Detroit), Dick Purtan,

Boy Scouts

Musicals: Spring Awakening, RENT, Gnomio and Juliet, Ponyo
Television and Movies: Flipper (old MOVIE) Flipper (old SHOW) Flipper (new adventures) High Society, Holiday Inn

Chromeo – MUSIC! …of a sort. The video for Hot Mess feels very 1983.

Nancy Grace – Jimmy: not political, but does have an opinion.(Website proves our point).

Jon Krakauer - Where Men Win Glory: The Odyssey of Pat Tillman, Under the Banner of Heaven.

Pat Benetar Autobiography

Pat Francis (Pardo’s friend and great comic)

Kathy Griffin Autobiography

Danielle Koenig – writer, comic, married to Jimmy.

Fantasy Baseball – Yeah… I have to have him back on to talk about this!!

Animated joke – my joke animated by Greg Franklin

Jelly Car 3 – full disclosure: Andy designed some of the levels of this game!

Brody Stevens – baseball dork, actor and really funny comic.

Jimmy’s website and links to his schedule and merch at the top of the page

I like that we think we’re done at 59min and then… we go for another 9 minutes… Because I like Jimmy Pardo. I hope you do too.

My Website was redone by Vilmos : www.jackiekashian.com with www.dorkforest.com is an offshoot of it and they both have players and links to his good work. My show schedules, videos of my stand up and the donation button are all there as well. Thanks for the orders and the donations this week and, as always, thanks for listening. Take care out there! Jackie

Ah, I so appreciate hearing someone else cop to just not caring that much about music. Here, in my 43rd year, I've finally admitted that I just. don't. like. most music. I'd rather have silence than music I don't actually like. Thank god for podcasts filling that void.

Loud "amen!"s also awarded to the suckage of Spring Awakening, smuggest show ever and to "cannot recommend" those sadistic Dragon Tattoo books. What the hell is wrong with people?

    Great podcast, thanks!

Holy SHIT. I'm a grown, six-foot tall man and I squealed like a stuck pig when I saw "Jimmy Pardo" in the same sentence as "Dork Forest". Jackie and Jimmy are an unstoppable tag team.

By the by, the image in my head of a school-aged Jackie Kashian standing in the Principal's office saying "You got your cut" made me burst out laughing.

And better luck with the headcold...we are all our own individual pieces of meat, indeed! (there's the next T-shirt...)

Joan Rivers, as the film doesn't quite get around to noting, did start (at least, iirc, her professional) performance career at Second City, so she might actually still prefer to think of herself as an actress...wonder where David Steinberg, whose career somewhat parallels hers, comes down on that for himself.

Otherwise, an utterly charming hour+. When Pardo isn't doing the fake brusque, you two are just about the most affable of the podcast hosts I hear, so it's no surprise that you could do a good show lightly touching on the various dorkery you did.

Nancy Grace genuinely is evil, indeed...though perhaps the creeps do tend to get around a bit more than the skeptics would like to believe, if less than the exploiters such as Grace and DATELINE's unit would enjoy having us think...and, to be sure, not all of them are male (quite aside from the annual discovery of a high-school teacher dating her 14yo student).

Oh! My two favorite comics in one podast! Yay!! I first heard you on NNF and then wandered into the dork forest. I can't wait to listen.

I do like Jimmy Pardo's performances...in fact, he reminds me more of Johnny Carson than anyone else (if Carson was ever that relaxed). But the current colorscheme on the TDF page has to be adjusted...the typeface lightened or the background put back to something pale...says the constant commenter before even listening...
