The new theme song is by Mike Ruekberg . It is adorable, fun to sing and fantastic.

Laurie Kilmartin and Kathleen Madigan had the longest conversation, before this, at the Comedy and Magic Club in Hermosa Beach two weeks ago. They learned that they were Kennedy dorks. And here they are REALLY talking about the Kennedys. It was fascinating and quite perfect for TDF. They are also hilarious and you should see them do standup out there.

Notes on this show:

1. The picture on this show is of Rosemary Kennedy. This photo is mentioned on the show. I could not find a workable family tree image in the heartbeat I looked if you want to "play along."
2. John Winthrop and Anne Hutchinson are the Puritans that I refer to - not by name - that are the ancestors of John Kerry and George W. Bush.
3. Around minute 102:00 Laurie Kilmartin announces her new job!! First place to be announced! (except to loved ones I assume).
4. Right after that I run out of memory on my flash card. So... min 104:00 ish... smash cut to us wrapping it up. I will buy a larger one... and...

Going back and listening to years-old episodes, I was cheered to hear that Maria Bamford was, at least, willing to read fiction a while back, notably Jonathan Lethem's MOTHERLESS BROOKLYN, the novel that helped Lethem reach audiences beyond those who had picked up on his brilliant sf and fantasy writing before that. Lethem, who dropped out of the same Bennington class which coughed up Bret Easton Ellis and Donna Tartt, much lesser writers (who were gradutated), in now a reltatively well-regarded writer nearly every which way, though not overpraised in the Franzen manner...but, then, who else is?

Carnegie and the other robber barons did their good work, often as not, as a means of whitewashing their crimes...as well as giving the younger generation an opportunity to alleviate Inheritor's Guilt.

There are those who looked upon Rosemary's fate as a Warning to women in the K fam.

Ah, when the Kardashians create their equivalent of "Seventy Thousand Assyrians" or THE HUMAN COMEDY, and then you'll be sorry! Or stunned...or wondering who they hired to ghost it for them...and how much Paris Hilton bet them they wouldn't...

But...but...O'Brien's show will be head to head with CHELSEA LATELY! How to choose (even if there are good people, usually funnier elsewhere, doing PEOPLE/E!-snark on CL...the cluster of THE DAILY SHOW and CO and CL and...ROBOT CHICKEN? such as that is...may the several flowers bloom...).
